Your Pet Portrait photoshoot:
takes between between one and one and a half hours, in your pet’s favourite outdoor spot - this could be a walk local to you; a secure dog field; your garden. If you’re struggling for inspiration, I have a few lovely walks including a circular route through Drew’s Pond Woods on the edge of Devizes…me and possibly your dog in a chalk stream is a great end to a photo-walk I love. If we go to a secure dog field (I can recommend places if needed) one session of 50 minutes is plenty.
is made to be fun, so that when you see the photos, not only will they have captured a moment in time of your beautiful pet, they will also bring back memories of a good time for you too.
During our time together I’ll take a variety of shots from different angles, with different lenses, allowing you to have a good selection of images from which to choose your favourites for your walls.
I always recommend that you bring any treats or toys that may grab, or help grab if needed, your pet’s attention.
I also recommend that you wear neutral-ish clothes (no big logos or really bright colours); this works better for any photos you may be in.
After your Pet Portrait photoshoot:
we’ll meet at my workshop on the edge of Devizes for the Reveal, where I’ll show you the best images from the shoot; there will be at least 15 to view. Generally the more pets in the Pet Portrait Session, the more photos you’ll be looking at. My aim is not to overwhelm you with too many photos, but to show you a good variety of images that capture both the character of your pet and the location and atmosphere of the photoshoot itself.
you select 3 images per dog for digital sharing (included in the package) and as many as you wish to be professionally printed and framed - the costs for this depend on the size and type of print and frame, but are exactly the same as for my prints that I sell in the Shambles, from my boat and online. I’ll bring physical samples of prints and frames with me so that you’ll be able to choose what suits your walls and budget best; with prices starting from £18 for an unframed 7x5” print in a 10x8” mount you may decide to get gifts for your pet’s fans as well as for yourself!
Rest assured, I will never sell copies of your Pet Portrait to anyone else (and I’m often asked!); I would love however to be able to use a few of my favourite images from the session for use online for publicity purposes and printed to show off both your beautiful pet and my photography. Copyright and high-resolution files from the shoot remain with me, but you will always be able to purchase more images in the future at the going rate; I have copies of copies of all files safely stored for future-proofing!
