I'm Philippa

There are over 2000 miles of canals in the UK and I’ve been exploring them from a 45 foot narrowboat since 20219, and the Kennet and Avon in particular for the last few years

I’m a Pet and Wildlife/Creative Nature photographer, photographing in the environment with natural light and minimal intervention. Revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary, showing nature’s everyday beauty in unexpected ways, is what makes me tick

I’m based out of my workshop on the edge of Devizes, Wiltshire – right next to the canal, nicely enough! This is where I do my editing and ordering; where I meet my Pet Portrait clients after their Pet Portrait Session; where I design and print mugs and bags and things; where I matt and frame prints…where ideas become reality…

I’ve been commended in Bird Photographer of the Year, published in various magazines and shortlisted in international competitions, and am proud to be an Ambassador for SheClicks, encouraging and supporting female photographers of all levels worldwide

For those interested, I’m a devoted Nikon user, working with a Z8 and a d750 paired with the awesome Z24-70 f2.8s and 70-200 f2.8 lenses - it’s definitely not all about the gear, but the gear definitely helps! For my close up and macro work, I absolutely love my Sigma 105 f2.8, a bargain lens that gives amazing results. Kase filters help with my creative photography and, when the shooting is done, I edit with Capture One Pro and use Affinity for designing. When it comes to putting photos on walls, I turn to Permajet’s fine art papers for those extra-special prints.
