Hello October you beauty; golden leaves, morning mists, season of mellow fruitfulness...this autumn thing is really happening, isn't it?
What a start to the month it's been and what a September it was too...I was and still am busy, busy, busy which is why I've got going straight away here with my 'where I'll be in October' overview. It's self explanatory (and if it isn't, send me a message if you've a question!)
Exciting news - the absolutely gorgeous Handmade in Bradford on Avon art gallery and gift shop is now stocking my work; it also means that I'm there in person several times a month so if you'd like to come and see me in person please do (also, it's such a beautiful place selling a wide variety of special items that I'd recommend a visit even if I'm not there!)
Don't forget to put the Honeystreet Mill Makers Market in your diary or on your calendar; think of advance Christmas shopping that supports independent local businesses in the chilled out setting of Honeystreet. The cafe is fab (booking recommended) and as this will be my 3rd Makers Market here, I can say with confidence that the standard of products on offer is brilliant. I'm very proud to be a part of this event.
And of course, you can find me in the Shambles in Devizes Market Place in my usual Bay 20 with a range of wildlife and canal photography as well as examples of my Pet Photography - yes it's fun and outdoors and yes I absolutely love it!!!
fun outdoor pet photography with me...
...in Wiltshire and beyond (Somerset recently) has kept me mega busy in September and well into October and it's easy to understand why - the heat is subsiding; the colours in the landscape are returning; the light is softening day by day and the result is gorgeous photos of gorgeous pets.
the selection of photos above are some of the pets I've photographed recently - funnily enough, there's been a whole load of secret photoshoots happening and those photos won't be shared until the time is right. But I can say that I do love helping make a unique surprise gift - some of the planning going into these secret shoots is quite remarkable (and I shall say no more than that!)
I'm fully booked for the rest of October and have extremely limited availability in November; if you've been thinking of your own or a surprise Pet Photoshoot with me, please don't wait to get in touch as you may be disappointed (and I wouldn't want that at all).
and to finish, a few recent photos - there's not been a lot of spare time for wandering around with my camera but - and it's a big but - the canal has been an absolute joy to be on. Morning mists, a kingfisher that beeps up and down past the boat all day every day, ducks with gleaming plumage and a heron that is mostly solo and sometimes having a squabble with another - it's just the best time of year to live on a narrowboat (and the photo of the Pewsey white horse is there just because I like it!)
So, take care everyone, enjoy autumn and these colours and wildlife and fresh air and mellow mornings...each day is full of wonder...and I hope to see you somewhere soon,
Phil x
